Emma Baker is a professional handweaver based in Salisbury, Wiltshire. She weaves on a traditional floor loom, selecting and dyeing yarns by hand before spending hours at the loom to create each piece. Emma is a member of the Artful Collective and the Wessex Guild of Craftsmen, and her work has been featured in the regional press. Every scarf and shawl sold here was made by Emma herself - there are no factories, no shortcuts, and no two pieces alike.

How do I care for a handwoven merino wool scarf or snood?
Handwoven merino wool items should be hand washed gently in cool water using a mild wool wash, then laid flat to dry away from direct heat or sunlight. Avoid wringing or machine washing. What is the difference between a snood and a cowl?
A snood and a cowl are essentially the same thing — a circular loop of fabric worn around the neck. Emma uses both terms interchangeably. They are pulled over the head and worn as a warm, stylish neck wrap with no loose ends.
