August 2026 - Weaving a moss green and pink tartan cloth
This month I wove a generously sized handwoven scarf /blanket scarf using fine merino lambswool in green and pink in a classic Tartan twill design.
This scarf was handwoven in a Tartan check pattern of deep moss green crossed with two shades of pink, from a soft rose to a deeper fuchsia. The design was built up in a twill structure, which gives the fabric a diagonal texture and a slight sheen along the ridges of the weave, and adds durability compared to a plain weave.

July 2026 - Weaving with hand spun blue yarn on the rigid heddle loom
This month I wove a beautiful one of a kind scarf using hand spun pale blue and grey yarn
This scarf was woven using hand spun merino wool fibres in predominantly pale blue with accents of dark grey, pink and red. The yarn was spun on an Ashford e-spinner -before being handwoven on a rigid heddle loom.

June 2026 - Weaving with hand spun yarn and ribbons
This scarf was woven on a rigid heddle loom after first spinning the fibres. The yarn was made by first blending pink, purple and blue merino and woollen fibres into a hand-spun yarn which gave a yarn with its own texture and colour variation. During weaving, I introduced pink and blue ribbons alongside multiple strands of the hand spun yarn simultaneously, creating a weft that is itself a layered, textured material. The result was a scarf with a surface quality that cannot be achieved by conventional weaving: colour that shifts and catches the light, and a texture that is the direct product of the making process.
May 2026 - Weaving handwoven graduation gifts
With my two children graduating this month was taken up with weaving 4 large blanket scarves and bow ties for my children and their friends.

April 2026 - Weaving checked merino wool fabric
During April I wove around 10m of 1m wide fabric in a wide range of colours with the fabric destined for snoods, neckerchiefs and small bags.
March 2026 - Weaving Twill merino lambswool scarves
Bright weaving was the focus during March as I was weaving a collection of checked bright and cheerful merino lambswool scarves. Whilst sales of my handwoven items slows down a little March and beyond this collection is likely to become Christmas 2026 luxury gifts!
February 2026 - Weaving Twill merino lambswool snoods
My collection of twill snoods and scarves was really popular this Autumn Winter season so the decision was made to weave another checked twill warp but this time introducing a wider range of colours.
January 2026 - Returning to my favourite deflected doubleweave design
The new Year started with a deflected doubleweave design in a range of teal and pink shades. 6 beautiful handwoven snoods were created with the thought of Valentine's day gifts. Click here for my selection of Valentine's Day gifts.
November 2025 - Weaving with Colour
This month has all been about weaving with colour. Having purchased a few really bright cones of merino lambswool I enjoyed weaving some stunningly vibrant colours just as the days were getting darker and gloomier - what a joy. A few scarves, snoods and triangle scarves were created which to my delight were instantly popular.

October 2025 - Photo shoot
With people beginning to think about Christmas gifts this month the focus moved away from weaving to showcasing my handwoven scarves and snoods being worn. Some beautiful images were taken which I hope show my handweaving at its best.
September 2025 - Tartan Weaving
With Tartan definitely being on trend for Autumn Winter 2025, this month has been at time to create some stylish Tartan designer scarves and snoods. I chose a traditional weaving structure and designed the Tartan to be predominantly navy with pops of red, moss green with a splash of white.

August 2025 - Weaving Autumnal scarves and snoods
This month the focus has been a focus on weaving with a collection of handwoven scarves and snoods in a navy, purple, green and yellow colourway.
July 2025 - Weaving with organic cotton
This month the focus has been a focus on weaving with fine 8/2 organic cotton. Weaving both a purple and white checked weave and a navy blue and white weave. This fabric has been used to create some thinner summer weight snood scarves which are lined with a beautifully fine cream linen fabric. Click here to explore cotton snoods.
June 2025 - Weaving a collection of scarves and snoods inspired by the rose garden
This month has started with the weaving a collection of three scarves and one snood in muted pink, mint green and a bright pink green cotton yarn. The contemporary colour palette has created a truly distinctive accessory.
Woven with the finest 100% cotton the scarf feels exceptionally soft against the skin whilst offering a breathable, lightweight drape. The scarves are a generous size allowing for versatile styling, wear it loosely draped or elegantly wrapped.
May 2025 - Weaving a special graduation gift collection of scarves and snoods
Having woven a scarf for my daughter in orange, pink and teal shades I decided that this was a perfect colourway for others who were in their twenties. Bright, fun and a vibrant choice. I wove a collection in these colours consisting of three scarves and several snoods with the thinking that they would make fabulous unique luxury graduation gifts. April 2025 - Cotton Ocean Blue Colour weaving
A number of people ask me about whether I weave scarves in cotton and the answer is 'yes'. This month I wove a small selection of cotton scarves and snoods in ocean blue, teal, turquoise and pale blue colours. The full selection can be seen by clicking here: Ocean blue cotton collection
March 2025 - Deflected Doubleweave in Emerald Green
This month has been a month of green weaving. Returning to deflected doubleweave designs and with the use of my new computer dobby system I am not able to weave with longer repeats. This has enabled me to weave some great designs which span a much longer length than I had previously been able to do. This weaving has created a few scarves and snoods which will form part of a collection to be launched in a few months. February 2025 - Weaving fine organic cotton Overshot tableware
Overshot weaving was the focus for February. Weaving with fine 8/2 organic cotton with an Overshot design. This weaving was only possible after my husband had made me a handmade computer dobby system for my loom. This computer allowed me to weave long pattern repeats and the table runners were woven with a repeat of 97 rows. January 2025 - Checked merino lambswool scarves and snoods
The focus for much of the weaving at the end of the year and into January was the weaving of checked blocks of colours. Uisng fine merino lambswool in a variety of colours a collection of scarves and snoods was created.
October 2024 - Multicoloured merino lambswool twill weaving
This month I started to weave a wide merino lambswool weave in bright colours. This fabric was made into snoods, hot water bottles covers and other gifting items. Visit my gifting page if you are looking for a unique luxury gift.
September 2024 - Green, Sea Green, Emerald Green, Blue Green - all the greens deflected doubleweaving
This month I completed my collection of green merino lambswool scarves and snoods. All woven with a deflected doubleweave design.

August 2024 - Turned Twill weaving
This month was a month of experimenting again with a turned 3/1 and 1/3 twill. I decided to weave in some Autumnal colours of plum pine and silver grey.

July 2024 - Monks Belt Weaving
This month was a month of finishing a 100% cotton weave in a monks belt design. The Monk's Belt design is a distinctive weaving pattern with bold geometric designs. I wrote a blog on this weaving project which gives a number of hints in the event that another weaver might also wish to weave this design. The blog can be found here.

June 2024 - Weaving in Autumnal oranges with a deflected doubleweave design
Planning ahead to Autumn, for much of the month of June I was weaving an orange, coral and blue deflected doubleweave design. This colourway has previously been popular for both men and woman as both a scarf and cowl complimenting a blue or navy jacket or coat perfectly.

May 2024 - Blue and white deflected doubleweave scarves
Blue deflected doubleweave scarves are often enjoyed but this year I have decided to weave in some emerald green to the collection. Woven with fine merino lambswool these scarves and snoods make perfect luxury gifts.

April 2024 - Pink deflected doubleweave luxury scarves
In need of a special gift for a person who likes lambswool scarves and pink resulted in a month of pink, burgundy and white weaving. Creating this special collection was a joy because I love pink myself with each scarf and snood being slightly different with the use of a range of different pink shades for the weft.

March 2024 - Blue and Yellow Tartan weaving
Continuing on from the Tartan weaving in February I wove a similar fabric in blue and yellow shades.

February 2024 - Weaving a Family Tartan as a special gift
A friend had a special birthday so I chose to weave her a shawl in her family Tartan. Woven in three bright colours and the classic 2/2 twill using fine merino lambswool.
The gift was appreciated and a spare shawl was created which is available in my website shop.

January 2024 - Cotton weaving
The New year was welcomed in with the a cotton weave. Whilst most people prefer a merino lambswool scarf or snood I always like to have a stock of cotton snoods in my shop for those people who prefer not to have wool against their skin.
