Woven with the finest merino lambswool on a floor loom using a deflected doubleweave reversible design.  A wearable piece of art, these shawls would be a perfect very special gift.  The three variations of this shawl vary with respect to one of the weft colours,  each has a white weft and the variation is the second weft colour, either dark navy, electric blue or a dark teal blue colour.
 
Creation:
The fabric for each shawl was woven using a deflected doubleweave design using 4 different patterns across the width of the shawl.  This design creates a reversible, airy and light shawl with a superior warmth.  A Louet floor loom was used for the weaving using all 8 shafts. The yarn used was merino lambswool in blues and white. Once woven the fabric was washed to remove the spinning oils causing the fabric to full and soften. Depending on whether the area of fabric has a tabby design or has longer warp or weft floats differential shrinkage has taken place leading to the softening of the edges of the pattern.

30cm wide by 186cm long with a 1cm frayed detail at each end.
 
Care:
Handwash gently in warm water with minimal agitation, dry naturally and press.
