This snood is part of a limited collection: Emma Baker wove one warp on her floor loom in Salisbury, Wiltshire that produced just five pieces - two scarves and three snoods. These are the three snoods from that warp. When they are gone, there will be no more from this exact weaving. The warp used a deflected doubleweave mosaic structure in navy, blue and yellow merino lambswool - the mosaic pattern creates clearly defined, tile-like geometric colour blocks across the surface of the fabric.
 
What is deflected doubleweave mosaic?
Deflected doubleweave mosaic is a specific variant of the deflected doubleweave technique woven on a multi-shaft floor loom. Where standard deflected doubleweave creates flowing curves and organic shapes, the mosaic variant structures the deflection to produce repeating geometric tiles across the fabric. The yellow, navy and blue colours are distributed in the tile pattern, creating a bold, graphic surface with a structured, contemporary character.
