What is Overshot weaving?
Overshot is one of the oldest weave structures in the Western handweaving tradition, associated with historical American Colonial and Scandinavian domestic textiles. The pattern is created by supplementary weft threads floating over multiple warp threads to form large, raised geometric shapes - the classic Overshot vocabulary of diamonds, stars and interlocking grid shapes. The result is an intricate design that rewards close attention: the closer you look, the more detail appears in the structure of the pattern.
 
Reversible - two looks from one runner
The table runner is reversible. One face is predominantly red, with the ecru as a secondary element; the other face shows a lighter balance of red and ecru, giving the pattern a softer, more neutral character.
