A handwoven deflected doubleweave merino scarf in orange, brown and beige - 1.8m long, made by Emma Baker in Salisbury
This scarf is woven by Emma Baker on her Louet floor loom in Salisbury, Wiltshire using an 8-shaft deflected doubleweave pattern in fine 2/17nm merino lambswool. The three-colour palette - orange, brown and beige creates a warm, earthy combination with a rich tonal range. The zig-zag surface character of the deflected doubleweave gives the scarf depth and visual texture across its 29cm width. After weaving, the fabric was washed to full and soften the merino.
1.8m - a generous scarf length
At 29cm wide and 1.8m long, with a 1cm fray at each end, this is a generously proportioned scarf. Long enough to wrap twice, drape over both shoulders, or loop and tie. The orange, brown and beige palette coordinates with charcoal, black, cream, navy, rust and khaki outfits - a versatile combination that works throughout autumn, winter and spring.
