A handwoven merino snood in purple, emerald green and yellow - made by Emma Baker in Wiltshire on a traditional floor loom using natural fibres.
Each snood woven by Emma is a testament to slow fashion: crafted slowly and intentionally, each is a unique wearable piece of artistry.
At approximately 45cm × 70cm, the fabric is generously sized and can be folded over before being pulled over your head, giving you two layers of warmth. Because the colours and patterns vary along both the width and length of the fabric, the snood can be repositioned to show different colour combinations - making it one of the most versatile accessories in Emma's range. It works as well indoors as out.
What makes this snood special?
- Handwoven in Wiltshire by Emma Baker - member of the Artful Collective and Wessex Guild of Craftsmen
- Natural merino fibre - warm, soft and breathable against the skin
- Rich palette of purple, emerald green and yellow - bold and co-ordinating with a wide range of colours
- Two weave variants - different surface textures to suit different tastes (see below)
- Double-fold wear - position the snood to show different colour combinations as you like
- One of a kind - handwoven on a floor loom; no two are identical
- Gift-ready - delivered in a gold-embossed branded gift box
Two variants:
A -Textured float weave: a looser, more open surface created by weft floats across the fabric, giving a softer, slightly irregular texture with the colours blending in a random, painterly pattern. A warmer, cosier feel.
B - Twill colourblock: a tighter, more structured weave using diagonal twill lines within defined colour blocks. A cleaner, more graphic surface with crisper colour separation. The twill gives the fabric a firmer hand and a subtle sheen.
Dimensions: Approximately 45cm × 70cm.
A gift for someone who loves colour and appreciates slow-made things.
At £45, this snood is one of the most accessible pieces in Emma's range. It arrives in a gold-embossed gift box, ready to give - whether as a present for someone special, or a treat for yourself.
How to care for a merino snood:
