A handwoven merino lambswool glasses case by Emma Baker in Salisbury - lined, scratch-protective, and postable
This glasses case is handwoven by Emma Baker on a floor loom in Salisbury, Wiltshire using fine merino lambswool yarn. The outer fabric is woven by hand before being sewn into the case and lined with a fabric in a complementary colour - a soft, non-abrasive lining that cushions your glasses and prevents lens scratches.
Two-sided outer fabric
Because the outer fabric is handwoven, the two faces of the cloth are not identical. The front and back of the case have a slightly different character - the same yarn but the weave’s structure reads differently on each side. This is a quality of handwoven cloth that makes each case subtly individual.
A postable gift
This is the most postable gift in Emma’s collection - small enough to send in a standard padded envelope, meaningful enough to feel considered. A birthday gift for a friend who wears glasses and values beautiful things, a stocking filler, a thank-you gift, or an impulse addition to an online order. Each case is one of a kind.
Dimensions
8cm wide × 16cm long.
Care
Spot-clean the outer merino fabric with a barely damp cloth. If a full clean is needed, hand wash very gently in cool water with minimal agitation and dry flat. The cotton lining can be wiped clean with a damp cloth. Do not machine wash or tumble dry.
