This table setting is woven by Emma Baker on a floor loom in Salisbury, Wiltshire using a 4-shaft Overshot structure in organic  100% cotton. The set includes 1 table mat and 4 napkins each with a napkin ring -  a complete, coordinated table setting in Emma’s Overshot homeware collection.

The Overshot weave - warp, weft and the red and natural pattern
The table mat is woven on a 4-shaft floor loom using an Overshot structure with a 97-row repeat. The warp and weft is both 100% GOTS certified organic cotton.  In Overshot weaving, the weft threads float over multiple warp threads in a supplementary pattern to create the raised geometric design. Here, the red weft floats create the pattern against the natural warp ground, producing a two-colour geometric surface that is different on each face of the cloth.
 
The off-white binding
The table mat has been finished with a co-ordinating off-white binding along the edges - a clean, tailored edge finish that gives the mat a considered, professional appearance and prevents the woven edges from fraying with repeated use.
