This cosmetic bag is handwoven by Emma Baker on a Louet floor loom in Salisbury, Wiltshire. The outer fabric is woven from fine 8/2 organic GOTS certified cotton in blue, cream, navy, grey and brass using a range of 8-shaft pattern structures - the outer surface has varied geometric character as different weave arrangements produce different textural zones across the cloth. The bag is lined with cotton fabric in a complementary colour.
 
Multiple 8-shaft patterns
Weaving with a range of 8-shaft patterns means using the full palette of structures that an 8-shaft loom makes possible. Different shaft combinations produce different interlacing sequences - one section of the fabric may have a twill diagonal, another a geometric block pattern, another a textured surface. The result is a fabric with varied visual depth across its surface, rather than the uniform texture of a single-pattern cloth.

Care
Spot-clean the outer fabric with a barely damp cloth. If a full wash is needed, hand wash gently in cool water with a mild detergent and reshape while damp. Dry flat. Do not machine wash or tumble dry.
